Max Factor Color Elixir Lipstick ' Angel Pink' - Review, Photos & Swatch

Hey peeps!! Today I'm going to review a lipstick which my gorgeous sister in law bought all the way from Sweden. This Lipstick is from the Max Factor Color Elixir Range and the shade is called ' Angel Pink'. This is my very first review of any Max Factor product. I've never tried anything from this brand before so I'm really excited about my today's post. Lets get started!
Product Description:  For instant fabulous colour and smoother, softer lips over time look no further than Max Factor’s new Colour Elixir Lipstick. The Elixir formula contains a 60% blend of skin emollients, conditioners and antioxidants including vitamin E, for a visible transformation in the look and feel of your lips. As you apply the Colour Elixir Lipstick, it actively moisturises and smoothes lips. Enjoy rich and gorgeous looking colour on smooth, beautiful lips!
Packaging: The packaging of this lipstick is very luxurious and chic! It comes in a lovely gold bullet with color indicator box on the bottom and ‘X’ embossed on the lipstick itself. The cap closes pretty tight so it's travel friendly as well. I simply love its packaging!
My Views:  Max Factor Color Elixir Lipstick ' Angel Pink’ can be described as a nude pink shade in a frost finish. It has medium coverage but can be layered for a more opaque look. Many people have compared it with MAC Angel but I can't give any opinion on that as I haven't tried MAC Angel yet.

The formulation of this lipstick is lovely. It’s creamy and nicely pigmented. It's not crazy pigmented, which for the price you would expect, but I guess a lighter color like this is harder to formulate. The texture is amazingly soft and smooth and glides on easily on lips. This is quite creamy and highlights all flaws. My lips are super pigmented these days but this lipstick concealed them well. Also, this stays on my lips for approx 2hrs after which it starts sinking into my lip lines making me look quite hideous.
Now I like nude shades, I really do, but this shade is too cool for me to wear without making me look washed out. In my opinion, it would suit really fair skintones or the only way I can make it work on my wheatish / dusky skintone is probably wearing it with dramatic smokey eyes or maybe with heavy accessories. If I don’t do either, this shade tends to make me look dull and washed out.

I feel this is an expensive lipstick with average staying power. Considering the price tag, there are brands which are making great lipsticks for much cheaper price.
My Recommendation:Overall, I'm happy with the formula and staying power of this lipstick but I don't like this particular shade. If you are a fan of lipsticks or you love to try new brands, I would highly recommend taking a look at the Color Elixir range. You will find a wide variety of colors that look really flattering on Asian skintones.

Price & Availability:  Max Factor Color Elixir Lipstick retail for £7.99 each and you can find them here.

  7. This shade will wash me out. Max Factor used to be awesome (my Mum says she wore their foundation to her wedding) but they've definitely lost the plot. Four years ago, their Lipfinity lippies were the best. Now, shades have become ashy and they are flaky. Pity. I wanted to love this brand so much.

  10. I think Max factor is a good brand. I have one of their lippies and the color is simply love. I ll review it soon. The pink shade you swatched is frosty and will not compliment our desi skin tones. Too bad you got the wrong shade. Thanks for the honest review.

  11. I've always liked max factor packaging but somehow their products dont seem to do very well. If they work on the quality they'll have a better place in the market. Thanks for the honest review.
