Philosophy: Hope In A Jar Review

Hello Lovelies!! I’m reviewing an award winning and most hyped moisturiser today and that’s ‘Philosophy’s hope in a jar’. Is this really a miraculous cream?? Keep reading to know..

Product description:
Our award-winning, lightweight daily moisturiser hydrates and provides antioxidant protection while improving skin texture and tone, leaving it smooth and radiant. this high-performing moisturiser contains lactic acid, a gentle alpha hydroxy acid that helps remove surface dead skin cells and beta-glucan to promote overall skin health by helping to strengthen skin’s natural rejuvenation potential. hope in a jar dramatically improves skin radiance and gently exfoliates, revealing smoother, healthier looking skin and texture.

Packaging: I absolutely love the simple packaging of Philosophy products. Everything comes with a cute little message written on the jar, isn't it adorable?? Hope in a jar comes in a simple white plastic jar with black screw top cap.
 Ingredients:
water (aqua), lauryl lactate, behenic acid, behenoxy dimethicone, glycerin, glyceryl stearate se, behenyl alcohol, pentaerythrityl tetracaprylate?tetracaprate, cyclopentasiloxane, tocopheryl acetate, benzyl alcohol, arginine, cyclohexasiloxane, retinyl palmitate, stearic acid, panthenol, beta-glucan, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, xanthan gum, triethanolamine, propylene glycol, methylparaben, propylparaben, diazolidinyl urea.
My Views:
I had really high hopes from this product but it has really disappointed me. This claims to be great for all skin types, Mine is dry and I find it a little too light for my liking. I always prefer rich moisturisers. The texture and consistency of this moisturiser is weird. It’s definitely lightweight, but it just kind of dissolves into a watery form as soon as you apply it on your face. I’d just feel like it was slipping all over my face,it wasn’t really getting absorbed at all, and it did not make my skin feel hydrated.Besides that, It stung my eyes a lot. I don’t have sensitive eyes and no product have ever used has made my eyes water but this did. Perhaps I’m allergic to some ingredient in the formula.
It has an AWFUL smell! Yes guys, really really awful. I think this is a pretty well-known fact about this moisturiser. I’m not very good at describing scents, but if I’m being honest it smells like a product which is perhaps rotten or expired.
My Recommendation: I wouldn't repurchase this.I think for what you’re spending, you can get moisturisers that are way more effective and worth it. the price is too expensive for a mediocre moisturizer. Therefore, I won’t recommend this moisturiser!

Price & Availability: (0.2 oz -$38, 4 oz -$60, and 8 oz -$105).You can buy it at any Sephora store or online at sephora.com or philosophy.com.I purchased mine from HASH.

Rating: 2.5 / 5

  8. Whoa! I had this in my skincare wishlist since Philosophy products are hyped to be superior. This is the example of how the price can't always guarantee the performance. Thanks for sharing your views! <3
