I know I am super late on this post, but better late than never, right??
It’s amazing how quickly 12 months can fly by and all of a sudden it’s January again. 2015 was an amazing and memorable year of my life. I got married, traveled to new places and started many new ventures. I feel like it was pretty exciting for me blog-wise too. I started many affiliate partnerships, worked with some great brands and tried so many beauty and skincare products. I’ve fallen in love with many new products and also repurchased some old favorites. In today's post, I am going to share a roundup of my beauty and makeup favorites from the year 2015. I hope you will like it :)
LA Girl Pro Concealers: You must have been living under a rock if you haven't heard about the LA girl pro concealers.I love the pigmentation and the coverage they provide, honestly worth the $5! Go on buy one, you won't regret it! Review here.
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer: The Balm Mary Lou is a fabulous highlight that flatters most skin tones. It's extremely pigmented. I love the subtle glow that you get with this highlighter. It’s my most favorite go to highlighter!
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation: I’m obsessed with this drugstore foundation and I keep mentioning that in my posts time to time. This foundation was hands down my favorite of 2015 and performs just as well as any high end brand. I use it almost every single day. It’s so lightweight, still delivers medium to full coverage. The finish is dewy and it looks like your skin, not a caked up made up version of your skin, but your skin. Here’s a detailed review.
MAC Studio Fix Fluid: Mac Studio Fix is my favorite high end foundation. I love its texture and blend ability. It photographs very well too so I use it for special occasions.Definitely pricey but worth every penny! See my review here.
Cheeks
Gorgeous Blush palette: It’s a lovely blush palette with 8 beautiful colors that flatter almost all skin tones. It’s sturdy and travel friendly.
Eyes
Urban Decay Naked 1 Eyeshadow Palette: Urban Decay Naked 1 was my first ever "high-end" palette.
I love this palette. The pigmentation and staying power is mind blowing! Can't wait to try more palettes from UD. Review coming soon!
Colorpop Super Shock Eyeshadows: Color Pop eye shadows are fantastic! They have every color you could ever think of and they are only $5. For that $5, you get intense pigment that stays on all day. They can be a little tricky in terms of application, but once you learn that, they are outstanding and fun to use!
Loreal 24H Laquer Gel Liner: Loreal gel liner is my Holy Grail liner. This jet black liner has the best formula, It doesn't budge or smudge even in extreme hot weather. The brush included is also fantastic. See my detailed review here.
Loreal Miss Manga Mascara: I've seen this mascara in a number of favorites already, and you should believe the hype. It has a large plastic brush with tiny spikes, which pick up every lash and coat them wonderfully. I find it easy to build up volume, without it clumping so it's quick, easy and hassle-free!
Eye of Horus Teal Malachite Goddess Eye Pencil: Eye of Horus is an Australian brand with amazing quality products. Their eye pencils are the best eye pencils I’ve ever tried! The creamy, waterproof and smudge proof formula of these pencils is incredible! I tried almost all shades but my favorite shade is teal. It looks stunning on eyes.
Lips
Colorpop Lippie Stix: I recently got my hands on Colorpop Lippie Stix and I’m really pleased with the quality and long lasting formula. The pigmentation is incredible and they all feel creamy on the lips. Frieda, Button and Lady are some of my favorites from Colorpop Lippie Stix.
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks: Maybelline's lipsticks are great. I’ve been using them since years! I really like the formula and variety of colors. They go on smooth and last for hours.
Tools & Brushes
Sigma Brushes: Sigma is my favorite brush brand! Their brushes are a wonderful addition to my brush collection. Whether you want to apply foundation, bronzer, or even buff color onto your eyes, there's a brush for that. They're ultra soft, fluffy and dense. I use them every day and they’re worth every penny. I love them!
Beauty Blender Sponge: 2015 was also the year that I finally experimented with a makeup sponge. As much as I still love brushes for buffing in face makeup, some formulas really do go on better with a sponge. And when it comes to sponges, nothing can't beat the Beauty Blender Sponge. It makes foundation application easy and effortless, as well as creating a flawless finish and it holds up really well to repeated washings. This is one of my Holy Grail products for 2015. Hopefully I’ll put up a full review soon!
Skin
Clarisonic Mia: This product is a skincare game changer! I purchased it last year and I’m religiously using it twice a week since then. I am amazed how clean my skin feels after using it. It helps reducing blackheads, my pores appear smaller and skin appears brighter. Clarisonic Mia is a very handy little gadget that cleans and exfoliates your skin very well, leaving pores feeling and looking cleaner. It helps your skincare products absorb better and it reduces the incidences of blackheads. Truly an amazing gadget! You can check out my first impressions post here.
Bioderma Sensibio H20 Cleanser: I finally found the Holy Grail of makeup removers in 2015. Bioderma sensibio is a magical cleanser. It's incredibly gentle on the delicate eye area and does a good job at removing all sorts of makeup including waterproof mascara. It’s odourless and colorless with a texture just like water but effectively removes all traces of makeup leaving your skin squeaky clean and extra soft. Two thumbs up for this awesome product!
Dermalogica Sunscreen: I have been using this sunscreen every single time I went out for the past year. This has got 50 % SPF which really helps you protect from the harmful ultraviolet rays. The formula is very light weight and non-greasy. I find the texture to be easy to apply and to be pretty comfortable compared to other sunscreens. It's definitely a reliable product!
Fragrances
Dior Jadore : Dior Jadore is a beautiful floral and feminine scent with top notes of Ylang-Ylang, heart notes of Damask Rose, and base notes of Sambac Jasmine. It’s a sophisticated scent which would work well on women of any age and is perfect for any occasion and any time of the day. I’m using this perfume since 2,3 years and I’m completely hooked to it!
Marc Jacobs Daisy : I am a fan of mild and fresh floral scents and Marc Jacobs is a fragrance that is totally my type. It’s a fresh and delicate floral scent, which I feel, is perfect for summers. I love its packaging too. The bottle is just so simple and pretty with daisies adorning the lid. This fragrance is surely an undying favorite of mine.
TBS Black Musk : I recently got this musk for review and I instantly fell in love with it, though I’m not at all a fan of musks and perfumes with strong earthy and woody notes, But this one is surely an exception! I love it’s unusual and unique smell. It's a warm winter-y fragrance. Full review here.
That pretty much wraps it up for my 2015 favorites. Comment below and let me know some of your favorite products of the year or things I need to add to my must try list for 2016, Also do let me know if you want to see a detailed review of any of the above mentioned products :)
Happy 2016,
Wajiha

ReplyDeleteWow Wajiha you have some of the best products in this list :)
ReplyDeleteSuch an elaborate post thanks for sharing! :D
ReplyDeleteHey, you have mentioned some really great products. You are right about Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks, I have tried some of them and found them very good. Dior J'adore EDP is one of my favourite perfumes but because it's not as great as it used to be when it was launched so I currently prefer J'adore L'Absolu EDP. I wish Marc Jacobs Daisy smelled as good on me as it does on most people but unfortunately on me, it smells like ...grass! And no, this is not a typo, I really did type 'grass', lolz ;-) You can read my full review on my blog if you like. I have been eyeing Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palettes since some time, if only I could decide which of the three I should splurge on! I am reasonably fair with warm, yellow undertones, dark haired and dark eyed, and if you could please advice me as to which of them would suit me most, then that would be highly appreciated. Anyway, thanks for such an interesting and informative blogpost, very much enjoyed reading it :-)
